Stream a Brand New Track From The Ocean’s New Album!

I’m not sure how many of you bothered to read up on the concept behind and execution of The Ocean’s forthcoming album Pelagial; it was a lot of info all at once. But one very important fact you need to know whether you’ve dug this band in the past or not is that the album’s songs are each focused around a different depth region of the ocean — starting with the surface and descending all the way to the deepest, darkest bottom — and that the music gets appropriately heavier with each pelagial region and corresponding song. That is really fucking cool concept for an album.

With that in mind, listen to “Bathyalpelagic II: The Wish in Dreams,” the brand new song The Ocean just unveiled and the first we’re hearing from Pelagial. This is the album’s fourth track out of eleven; it’s pretty heavy, but not even close to the bludgeoning and reckoning this album brings by the time its final tracks roll around. Dig:
