Machine Down a Head
You can now add Machine Head to the list of bands down to a sole original member: bassist Adam Duce is no longer in the group. Apparently he’s leaving on good terms… although why he’s leaving isn’t clear from the band’s brief statement on the matter:
Machine Head and bassist Adam Duce have parted ways. The split is amicable, and Machine Head would like to wish Adam the best with his current and future endeavors. The band will continue on for the time being as a three-piece and have begun the writing process for their follow-up to 2011’s “Unto The Locust“. A late 2013 release is projected.
Apparently Duce was pretty unhappy that material he wrote of Unto the Locust was unused, although whether or not he felt Caggiano’d won’t be clear until he releases some statement of his own… assuming he releases some statement of his own.
The silver lining, I guess, is this: it was four years in-between Through the Ashes of Empires and The Blackening, and more than another fours years in-between The Blackening and Unto the Locust, so it’s nice that we won’t have to wait as long for the new album. Hell, even if ended up coming out in early 2014, MH would be ahead comparatively ahead of the schedule.
Meanwhile, there’s no word yet on the rumor that Duce is being replaced by Jon Dette.
