Exclusive: Past and Present Members of The Black Dahlia Murder and Napalm Death Have Started a Grind Project
Well here’s some great fucking news!
While we don’t know the status of the supergroup featuring ex-Black Dahlia Murder drummer Shannon Lucas, Cannibal Corpse’s George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher, and Killswitch Engage’s Adam Dutkiewicz, we now have another supergroup featuring Lucas to get excited about — and this one seems to be moving full-steam ahead.
A reliable industry source tells us that Lucas has teamed up with Napalm Death bassist Shane Embury and BDM vocalist Trevor Strnad for a brand new grind project. Rounding out the group is guitarist Adam Faris, who was a member of Lucas’ old band from back in the day, Wartorn.
The group, which still does not have a name (at least that we know of), was conceived by Lucas many years ago, and has been revived since he left BDM. And like we said — they’re moving full-steam ahead. Lucas and Strnad will go into Random Awesome Studios in Bay City, MI in April to record drums and vocals with Josh Schroeder. Meanwhile, Embury will lay down bass tracks from his home. Faris’ guitars have apparently been done for years already.
It’s almost impossible for me to imagine this won’t be killer. Lucas is one of the best drummers in modern metal, and if you ask us, Strnad is one of the best front men in modern metal, too. And Embury is (duh) already a legend. These guys would probably have to go out of their way to make something crappy.
You’ll know more as soon as we do, but for now, start getting stoked!
