Alice in Chains Made a Video About Getting Aliens Baked

Alice in Chains have released a Roboshobo-directed video for their infectious new single, “Hollow,” and it’s a slam dunk if ever there was one. The influences of the clip are pretty obvious — 2001, Alien, Silent Running, Moon, and Sunshine are clear touchstones — but it’s really beautiful, and I think it’s pretty cool how the story expresses the themes of the song in a way that’s a little less obvious than one might expect.

BONUS: I’m not really kidding about the whole getting aliens baked thing.

“Hollow” is available digitally now. The band’s new album still doesn’t have a release date. Or a name, as far as I know. A little weird but I’m excited to hear it whenever it comes out and whatever it’s called!
