Now Slayer Make Christmas Sweaters, Too
After discovering last week that Victory Records has begun to manufacture Christmas sweaters for artists like Otep and Emmure, I opined, “If they made one for any of the bands on their roster that I like, I would definitely buy one to wear to every holiday party I attend this season.”
Well, good news/bad news! Slayer are now making Christmas sweaters of their own… but they’re currently only available in the UK. Like, even if I was willing to pay what I’m sure is the small fortune they’re charging for these things (right now the website won’t even allow me to see the price!) and shipping costs, I couldn’t purchase one. Total bummer.
Of all the ridiculous merch items Slayer now sell, this is, by far, the one of which I most approve, even if technically selling anything related to the birth of Jesus seems like a pretty serious contradiction of principles from the band responsible for songs like “Disciple.” The reason I like these anyway is a) they’re obviously intended to be funny, and b) we all know that Tom Araya doesn’t believe in the whole anti-Christian message of the band anyway, so whatever.
Conclusion: any UK readers wanna help me get my hands on one of these? I kinda need it ASAP if I’m going to wear it in the most offensive social situations possible. K thanks!
