Trent Reznor is Gonna Be on the New Queens of the Stone Age Album, Too

Trent Reznor announced during a Reddit AMA session yesterday that he’s “helping Josh [Homme] out on a new QOTSA track,” which I think is good news. Last week, I opined the loss of fire in Queens of the Stone Age’s belly since they split with fucknuts bassist Nick Oliveri, and although Reznor’s last few releases have also been on the mellower side, just last year he proved that he can definitely still bring the crazy when the occasion calls for it. If nothing else, this means we know for a fact that there will be at least one catchy song on the album.

Also interesting: Dave Grohl, whose performance on Nine Inch Nails’ With Teeth was so good that I prayed for him to join that band full-time, is playing drums on this album. That might be the closest thing to a genuine Reznor/Grohl collaboration that we get again for some time.

In any case, I’d say that Josh Homme is doing a good job of getting people interested in this new QOTSA release, wouldn’t you?
