King’s X Drummer Jerry Gaskill’s Home Destroyed by Hurricane Sandy
This has not been a wonderful year for King’s X drummer Jerry Gaskill. In February he was hospitalized after suffering a heart attack, although he made a complete recovery and was able to take King’s X on the road with Kansas this summer. Unfortunately things have once again taken a turn for the very, very worst: Jerry and his wife Julie live on the coast of New Jersey — the area hit the hardest and most directly by the storm — and they’ve been displaced from their home, losing all their material possessions to the epic flood waters.
Jerry’s friends and fans united to help raise funds for his medical bills after the heart attack, and now they’ve done so again: using the site GiveForward.com, Ed & Michelle Frost have organized a fundraiser for Jerry and his wife to help them get back on their feet. I can’t imagine the stated goal of $25,000 will even come close to covering all that the couple lost even if it’s met, but every little bit helps. Donate here.
