ROB ZOMBIE AND MARILYN MANSON ARE IN LOVE

Update, 4:33 pm: A reader who actually attended one of these shows points out that Zombie is going on after Manson every night. Consequently, I am now 100% confused as to how Zombie’s set running long — assuming it even is running long — could shorten the set of the guy who goes on before him. There are few things more entertaining than when two wealthy rock stars who have almost no real problems of any kind get into a pissing contest, ostensibly because their egos got the better of them. Thus, I am thrilled to report that current tour mates Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson have begun to slag one another from the stage.

The fun started on Friday night in Detroit — only a quarter way through the tour! — when Manson told the crowd that he was going to kick Zombie’s ass, and Zombie subsequently calling Manson “a punk ass bitch” (so the stories are true — Rob Zombie really does write his own movie dialogue):

What caused this little catfight? Apparently, Zombie’s set has been running long, thus cutting into Manson’s stage time and forcing him to cut his shows short. Manson explained via Twitter following such an incident on Thursday evening in Illinois:

Sadly for comedy fans everywhere, Zombie took the high road, both further explaining and apologizing for the barbs via his Facebook page:

I actually understand being pissed that you have to cut your set short (although you wonder why Manson couldn’t remove a song no one cares about — say, anything from his last two albums — and given the fans the one song that were all inarguably there to hear), but whether or not Zombie is deliberately fucking with Manson’s show is… well, who the fuck knows? Certainly, Zombie has been accused of being a massive dick before, but I find it just as likely that the guy either didn’t realize his set was running long, or his ego is just too big to care; I mean, it’s not as though rockstars have reputations for being humble and/or on top of their shit.

ANYWAY, hopefully this will end with both guys killing each other. I mean, really, that’s the only reasonable reaction to have your set cut short/being called out for cutting someone’s set short. These are not at all uptown problems, and they should be settled in the most severe manner possible.
