AXL ROSE ANNOUNCES RESIDENCY AT HARD ROCK HOTEL AND CASINO LAS VEGAS BUFFET
Never one to miss an opportunity to do something that Mötley Crüe have already done, Axl Rose’s latest incarnation of Guns N’ Roses will play a residency at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino from October 31 to November 24.
The residency will be entitled “Appetite for Democracy,” which is timely, since elections are in November. It’s also a good way to remind concertgoers that this isn’t the band they care about, since musicians who wrote and recorded Appetite for Destruction won’t be present, and no one bought Chinese Democracy.
Still, the deal is a win for all parties involved, according to a source that asked to be identified only as “Muff DcKagan”:
“Las Vegas is a place where everyone who was ever famous is still famous — hell, even celebrity lookalikes can make a good living there. So people will still pay fifty bucks or more to see Axl Rose and a Slash impersonator play old classics. And now Axl can spend as much time as he wants at the buffet, and they’ll just deduct his tab directly from his paycheck. So it’s very efficient for him. Y’know, that dude lost his wallet sometime around 1985 and has basically just been scamming for free food and services ever since.”
Tickets go on sale Friday.
