IS TEENAGE BOTTLEROCKET’S “HEADBANGER” THE LEAST METAL SONG EVER ABOUT METAL?

Who the fuck are Teenage Bottlerocket? I have no fucking idea, but an anonymous reader sent us a link to their new video for a song called “Headbanger,” which is about a guy who is in danger of hurting himself from headbanging too fast and hard. Funny enough idea for a hyperviolent Municipal Waste tune, but Teenage Bottlerocket ain’t no Municipal Waste. Not only is the resulting pop-punk incredibly irritating, but the joke gets really old really fast. And while it seems like someone involved in the video’s creation was kinda-sorta in the know (nice Bathory shirt, brah), there are a lot of egregious errors a true metalhead would never make. For example, having a dude sign “I love you” instead of throwing horns is the kind of mistake commonly made by old ladies and Disturbed fans…

…but having a dude wearing a Bark at the Moon shirt written in the Maiden font is just silly, especially in light of the Maiden/Osbourne feud. I mean, c’mon guys, hire a researcher. I’d have done an accuracy check for you for the price of a joint!
