MATCHES 13-16: SCOTT IAN VS. J. COSTA, CHRIS ADLER VS. BJORN GELOTTE, SHAVO ODADJIAN VS. SANFORD PARKER, ANDY WILLIAMS VS. JOHN BAIZLEY
Well well well: yesterday’s match-ups sure were br00tal! Once again we had three unequivocal knock-outs, with Johann Hegg tearing Iron Lung to shreds in a scissor fight, Dime making himself Paul Speckmann’s master, and Mark Morton sending Per Wiberg off to be a lamb of god. And, once again, we had one close match — in fact, this time, it was really close — with Neurosis’ Steve Von Till beating Protest the Hero’s Tim Millar by hundreds, not thousands, of votes.
And now we’re starting to see how Round 2 is gonna shape-up! Surely, it will provide each competitor with a more difficult victory or defeat, shall it not?

No doubt about it, Scott Ian is legendary — but J. Costa’s beard is already a legend in and of itself, and he’s only been in the game a fraction of the time as Ian. So shall Costa’s will be done? Or will Ian inflect anthrax upon him? You decide!
CHRIS ADLER VS. BJORN GELOTTE
Chris Adler’s bandmate, Mark Morton, has already advanced to Round 2; can Adler join him there? His facial hair is mighty, to be sure, but Gelotte’s hails from Sweden, where beards are trained for such bouts from an early age. What shall be the outcome? Vote below!
SHAVO ODADJIAN VS. SANFORD PARKER
Here we have two competitors with very different approaches to the stylization of the face fuzz. But which one do MetalSuckers prefer? Wayne Static’s own rubber banded beard didn’t fare well during his fight; can Shavo do better against Sanford???
ANDY WILLIAMS VS. JOHN BAIZLEY
Andy Williams’ beard is so big that every time it dies, it grows two new live beards. But Baizley’s face is decorated with a true renaissance beard — it plays music, it does art, and we once saw it land a three pointer just before the buzzer went off!
