BYZANTINE GET A RECORD LABEL (AND SO DO CHROME WAVES)
Byzantine broke up, Byzantine got back together, Byzantine raised a ton of money for a new album via Kickstarter — all that’s old news. But here’s the new news: Byzantine have signed to startup metal label Gravedancer Records. If you’re a Byzantine fan you’ve surely seen this news elsewhere already, but I just wanted to send a personal congratulatory high-five to both parties for this unholiest of matrimonies. While I’m sure Byzantine would’ve been just fine self-releasing, there’s no question that the marketing and distribution offered by Gravedancer will take the record they’re working on right now to another level. Listen to two clips of Byz guitarist OJ Ojeda jamming on new material here and another of the full band doing so on a different tune here.
Gravedancer has signed Chrome Waves as well, a band we featured on MetalSucks just last month consisting of members of The Atlas Moth, ex-Nachtmystium and ex-The Gates of Slumber. Given the cast of characters, Chrome Waves sound a lot like you’d expect (and that’s a good thing); jam a tune here. Very much looking forward to hearing their first Gravedancer Records release when it comes out on July 3rd.
