TONY IOMMI OFFERS UPDATE ON HIS FIGHT AGAINST LYMPHOMA
We haven’t gotten many updates on Tony Iommi’s health since we learned in January that the legendary guitar player has been diagnosed with lymphoma. But now he’s released a statement on his progress and well-being via his official website, and it sounds about as encouraging as possible:
“Hiya,
“A little update on how it’s all going:“Well, I’ve had the last dose of chemotherapy so hopefully my body will start to get back to normal soon, the steroids were the worse. I’ve now got three weeks of radiotherapy coming up which I’m told can be very tiring so we’ll see.“A big thanks to Ozzy and Geezer for coming over to England, it was a big incentive for me, we managed to work most days and have some great new tracks.“And, importantly thanks again for your kind messages, hope to be seeing you soon.– Tony”
So we’re obviously not out of the woods yet, but like I said, this sounds about as encouraging as possible.
Not much else to say; our thoughts continue to be Tommy and his family and friends. Fingers crossed that he’ll be able to put all this behind him very, very soon.
