DEVIN TOWNSEND AND GREG PUCIATO MASTURBATE MIGHTILY IN FRONT OF AUSTRALIAN ONLOOKERS

The way Devin Townsend and Greg Puciato came to collaborate on Townsend’s “The Mighty Masturbator” is now the stuff of internet legend:  Alkahest from Heavy Blog is Heavy tweeted that Puciato was “the only thing missing” from the all-star roster on Townsend’s Deconstruction, at which point Puciato tweeted that he’d love to be on the album, at which point Townsend tweeted that he’d love to have Puciato on the album, at which point… y’know, Puciato ended up on the album.

And then the two came together at Soundwave in Australia a couple of weeks back to perform the song live. Which is cool enough as it is, but, y’know… A FAN ON THE INTERNET MADE THIS HAPPEN. That’s so crazy to me. Do you know how blown my mind would have been if we’d had such free access to our heroes when I was a kid? Dudes in bands we loved seemed like they might as well be on Mars, and now a simple Twitter exchange can lead to all this. Truly amazing.
