Hooray for Byzantine! The recently reunited West Virginian face-pummelers reached and then far surpassed their Kickstarter goal of $5,000 to fund their new record, raising an impressive $8,000 through the pledges of 118 backers.

Which means it’s time to get down to the nitty gritty: actually recording the album. Here’s a homemade video of guitarist Chris “OJ” Ojeda running through two-and-a-half minutes of a brand new song. I’d say so far so good, wouldn’t you?

Expect the new record this coming fall.
