NEW MUSIC FROM TEXTURES OFFICIALLY MAKES 2011 THE BEST YEAR EV-AR
New Devin (now times three!), new BTBAM, new Protest the Hero, new Meshuggah, new Obscura, new Scale the Summit… most likely new Opeth, Mastodon and Dream Theater… and now new TEXTURES. What did we do to deserve this? As in, can someone please let me know so I can make sure every year is this full of awesome metal record releases??
A press release that arrived at the Mansion in the wee hours of the morning tells us that Textures are in the studio working on pre-production right this very moment at Split Second Sound in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The album will be produced by Textures’ guitar player Jochem Jacobs, who also was responsible for the production of Textures’ previous three albums. This will, of course, be the recorded debut of new vocalist Daniel de Jongh formerly of fellow Dutch experimental metallers Cilice; I’m curious to hear de Jongh’s voice with Textures, but I’m positive he’ll be stellar.
Kip W. will be especially happy about this news; that dude wears his Textures t-shirt literally every time I see him. He wears that thing so much I’m surprised he hasn’t worn holes into it yet with which to stick his ding-dong when he’s feeling horny for some delicious experimental prog metal. Yet.
