WAYS TO ENSURE THAT WE ACTUALLY LISTEN TO THE BAND ABOUT WHOM YOU ARE E-MAILING US
Ax and Vince receive a lot of emails from readers anxious for us to check out bands, both their own bands and ones they just happen to dig. This is great, and we really appreciate it. It’s how we find out about new, cool music.
However, we’d like to suggest two tips to ensure that we actually listen to the band you’re so excited about:
- Include a link to someplace we can hear the band – MySpace, YouTube, an mp3, Spank Wire, whatever. The number of emails that come in saying “omg check out this band they rule!!!” that don’t include a link is mind-boggling; more than 50%. Do you want us to actually listen, or do you just enjoy typing out a band’s name for the sake of doing so? We know we could theoretically just Google the band, but we’re busy obsessing over whether or not John Bush will rejoin Anthrax and slapping our foreheads in disbelief about Dave Mustaine’s latest gaffe for Chrissakes.
- Check to see whether we’ve written about said band before. A good 25-50% of emails ya’ll send are about shit we’ve already covered.
Capeesh? Yes, we’re assholes.
Sincerely,
AR & VN
